Festival of Photography 2024, f/30 and other locals

f/30 and other locals
We welcome Festival Of Photography 2024, theme ‘Believe’.
This year we will be exhibiting an outstanding range of imagery by Kaipara College students who are studying towards NCEA Photography at Level 2 and 3, alongside established and upcoming photographers in the Helensville region.
Works in this exhibition seek to explore themes such as; constructed realities and identity through portraiture, still life and landscape photography.
This exhibition offers a glimpse into the rich experiences and perspectives of our rangatahi within this community, and local photographers from our Helensville community whose belief in the captured image have led them to share their own unique viewpoint through this medium. Like any community, voices are diverse and contrasting, making this a show not to be missed!
Exhibition dates 29 May – 15 June
Opening evening Friday 31 May 5-7pm all welcome

31st January – 24th February 2024, opening night 2nd February 5-7

The Kaipara River, which winds its way through our town, preceding the settlement of Helensville, and at times defining it, is as much a symbol as a physical body of water. This new year at the Art Centre, we will be hosting an exhibition which reflects what our awa means to us.

Kiri and Yvonne

The work of Kiri Abraham, and Yvonne Abercrombie
Abercrombie, a pickler to painter, Abraham cultivator to contemporary mark maker – their works couldn’t be more diverse. However there is a kindred response to natural elements influencing both practices. This exhibition celebrates the fundamental roots of existence, humanistic and landscape.
Like a devout forager, Kiri seeks earthly provisions for each process in her work, from material used to the homage of the work itself being imbued in the birth and decay of creation.
Edible textures and resplendent colours, Yvonne’s oil painting embodies the permissive pleasures of nature. There is an ingenuous candor in the respect of self and body, and a semblance of flowers and verdure.
Exhibition curated by local acknowledged artist Jeffrey Thomson.

8th November until 2nd of December, opening evening 10th November 5-7pm all welcome.
